Tuesday night was "mood setting" night.

Our newest hard working director

Yes, the line-up was horrible.  And directors' couldn't even get tickets!

Our opening prayers were very eloquent and inspiring

I'd say looks like the Premier handled Tuesday better than the Chairman.

Hugh McFayden, pretty handsome with his new jacket made at White Feather Cree-ations.

Jon Gerrard

Eric Robinson has to tease Sonny too.

Mr. Jebb, representing Glen Ross.  Voted best dressed at opening ceremonies.

Reeeve Rod representing RM of Kelsey

Jennifer and her court introducing...............

our candidates.  I think we should keep the sign but change it to "Spirit"!

Miss O.I.D. Aleesha Lavallee, very pretty!  Perhaps a future Fur Queen?

The honourables doing the official opening.

Welcome Leanne Rowat, return visitor to Trappers'.

It takes a lot of volunteers to keep the parade going.  Thanks to all that helped make it a success!  Thanks Jim Lamontagne, Ryan Asham, Air Cadets, IGA, UCN cafeteria,  Rotary Club,  Northland Leisure, Gene's Electronics, Fire Department, RCMP, Royal Bank, Knights of Columbus, Clean-Rite Cleaners, Paper Works Plus, judges Ken Krystik and Judy Rewniak

Bill Bannock and Kerri Irving-Ross doing some healthy living.

Our crown on the float does look like Jen's crown!  I think it looked great lit up!

17 entries in the contest.  Judges were amazed by the quality of floats, and so was the crowd!  Northern Manitoba Trappers' Festival thanks the community for their support and enthusiasm, it helps make Trappers' the best festival in Northern Manitoba, if not all Manitoba!  We should be proud!

Some other extra pictures

Guess what?  That log that the ladies throw in the Queen Trappers' is not only heavy, it is awkward.  I didn't dare hold it at the bottom or run with it.   Some things you just have to see for yourself!

Good thing I didn't decide to check out the portage race.  Falling off that log with something heavy in my hands would have been broken ribs for sure!
